Designed for Precision Worm and Thread Grinding of the Highest Quality

Mechanical:
The machine was dismantled to its main units, cleaned and examined for condition and wear. Once we completed the evaluation the following list of items were completed on the machine but not limited to:
* Readings of all v ways and flat ways were taken and reground if necessary
* The spindle saddle was scraped into tolerance of main bed
* The main tabletop was scraped to assure the proper alignment between the workhead and tailstock
* New tailstock to accept hydraulic actuated dead center
* All hydraulic pumps, solenoids, lines, and motors replaced with new
* The work head transmission was gutted and all unnecessary gearing, and shafts removed
* Built and installed a new clamp mechanism for the tilt A axis utilizing Belleville washers with Hawe pump
* Designed and built a rotary encoder mount for rear of the work head.
* New Ball screws for X and Z axis
* Designed and built adjustable steady rest
* New lubrication system
* New bearings throughout machine
* New machine guarding and paint

Electrical:
* Fanuc 180i T (4) axis control system
* Design, built, and installed the required servomotor mounts, brackets, and couplings for the selected axis:
* X radial feed, (Z) axial feed, (C) work rotation, and (A) head swivel
* New Hoffman electrical cabinet and air conditioner
* Heidenhain direct feedback absolute scales (4) total for the X, Z, C, & A-axes.
* Scale accuracy C Axis is +/-1 arc sec and A Axis is +/- 5 arc sec.
* Allen Bradley relays and limit switches
* Two sets of documentation consisting of the following will be provided on CD, as well as one printed set of generated documentation.

Dresser System:
* Programming in Windows XP. Control utilizes the X and Z axis to create forms.
* Variable speed Saint-Gobain precision dressing spindle.

Coolant:
* External Coolant tank with new pump and filter
